In Ambrières-les-Vallées, nestled between the gentle murmur of the river and the tranquility of the park, Camping Parc de Vaux now offers yoga classes in Mayenne, designed to provide a moment of respite from the pace of your stay. For one hour, the goal is simply to slow down, find your breath, and reconnect with your body’s sensations, all within the natural setting that defines the campground’s identity. This wellness activity at Camping Parc de Vaux is open to anyone curious to discover yoga, as well as those who wish to deepen their existing practice.
The Session Schedule
Each session combines pranayama, postures, and movement sequences in a practice that invites you to slow down and become aware of your breath. The goal is not performance, but presence: to develop your attention, concentration, and a more mindful connection between your body, breath, and emotions. Enjoying the park’s tranquility during this time is an integral part of the experience offered at the campground.
Berenice Daligault: A Journey of Practice and Transmission
The classes are led by Berenice Daligault (Berenice Salazar Leon), known throughout her career as Mantra Devi. Her journey into yoga began more than twenty-six years ago with Baba Ramahaj Yoguiar, who trained her in Kriya Yoga Pranayama Kundalini. Since then, she has continued her studies across several traditions, including Bhakti Yoga and Abhinaya Yoga—a practice linked to classical Indian dance, physical expression, gaze, and emotions.
It is these rich and demanding formative years that give the sessions offered at the campground their foundation and authenticity. Mantra Devi is not an official title: it is the name she has chosen to accompany this long journey of practice, teaching, and inner exploration.
The Legacy of the Nāṭyaśāstra
Part of this training has its roots in the *Nāṭyaśāstra*, the foundational text of classical Indian performing arts, in which movement, expression, and breath are inseparable from the inner dimension of the practice. It is in this tradition that Abhinaya holds a special place in her teaching: she presents it as a practice of presence and attunement to the body, in which gesture and gaze become tools for mindfulness rather than mere techniques.
A Different Approach to a Traditional Yoga Class
While many classes focus primarily on posture, Mantra Devi structures her sessions around several complementary traditions: breathwork drawn from Kriya Yoga and Pranayama, the inner dimension inherited from Bhakti Yoga, and the emphasis on movement through Abhinaya. The result is a session that truly makes room for listening to the body and conscious breathing, guided by an unconventional journey.
An activity suitable for all skill levels
Given the depth of this program, the rates are kept intentionally simple: €8 for campers and €10 for non-campers. This price allows everyone—whether a beginner or a more experienced practitioner—to explore this approach without pressure, whether for a single session or several sessions during their stay, in a friendly atmosphere that reflects the campground’s spirit.
